Biography

About

Andy is a trained musician who has been playing drums and percussion professionally for over 20 years. Andy has a wealth of experience playing live percussion with DJs and bands across the UK at festivals, nightclubs, bars and private events.

For weddings and functions Andy is available to play live percussion either alongside your chosen DJ, or solo with his own PA and backing music. He can play along with any style of music adding a live element and creating that unmistakable party atmosphere at your event. As you can see from the videos and pictures, Andy plays top of the range eye catching silver sparkle congas and can also provide lighting to add to the visual spectacle!

Over recent years Andy has played at Café Mambo events and worked alongside internationally renowned DJs including the godfather of UK House and Garage Grant Nelson, Danny O and Ridney (Cafe Mambo residents), renown producer and DJ Richard Earnshaw, Steve Taylor (iCulture), , Kevin McKay (Glasgow Underground), Junior (Kinky Malinky, Citylife), Grant Richards (Kinky Malinki), Mitch Tilson & Jack Disley (SoulMuch, SoulDevine), Pete Isaac (Jelly Jazz) and a number of international DJs including Matt D and Gerardo Smedile (Italy), The Checkup (Germany).

As well as playing with DJs, Andy has also played for a number of international artists including Pixie Lott, Eddie Manion (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band), Miss Emily (Canadian singer songwriter), Shahab Tiam (Iranian pop star), Diane Shaw (UK Soul artist) and Lew Kirton (Legendary American soul singer), and UK Bhangra artist Surj Sahota.

Whether it's improvising alongside a DJ, playing his own self-contained solo show, or playing with bands, Andy can definitely add the wow factor to your event and deliver a slick and professional performance.

International - As well as playing acoustic percussion, Andy has also added an electronic percussion instrument to his set up which enables him to play 400 drum and percussion sounds from one unit! This is a great option for international gigs, events where parking is not available and/or space is very tight, as it is much more portable than the acoustic set up but allows him to recreate the sound of all the instrument in his acoustic set up and many more.
