About

Powerful and mysterious. Dark and fun. Melancholic and mischievous. Combinations that usually aren’t meant to perfectly describe Laélia.Born next to the sea, but grown out of the ground, this creature moves fluid like water but vocalises strong as land. An incredible sight of colour, anger and sensuality.

Originally from Brazil, this singer, songwriter, performer and actress moved to London 7 years ago, where she would change her destiny forever by finding her true inner sound.

Starting her career in musical theatre, she travelled all around the world performing in front of big crowds as part of famous musicals such as Mamma Mia and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Her theatrical past is definitely a big influence on her explosiveness and energy, which translate to very ear and eye-catching songs, videos and performances. Her passion for pop music and the desire to dance to the beat of her own drums led Laélia away from the theatre stages to release her first single “Run this Town“, a song that captures perfectly her essence with acid guitars, catchy choruses and strong personality.

“Run This Town“ was very well received by her audience and was chosen to be the opening theme of the internet series “Danny’s Bucket List”. The song was also accompanied by an eerie horror movie inspired video. Shortly after, Laélia dived in the vibrant and enigmatic universe of “Creatures”, an 80’s inspired feel-good pop anthem that would help her consolidate her sound even further, propelling her to a place that is new and unusual in the current pop industry. This September, she joined forces with producer Inu The Strange and is currently working on the release of her next single: "Television".

Laélia beams synths from the 80s and 90s. Casts hints of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush and Gwen Stefani. But the undefinable sounds you find in her songs are what make her feel like the soundtrack of tomorrow.

Once she takes the main stage, she will make it hers and no one else will reach it.
